George Spencer won his third ABT title by defeating Roger Thaine Jr. 247-218 in our combo singles event at AMF Thruway Lanes. In round one of the match play finals Roger Thaine Jr. defeated James Piwko 263-211 and George Spencer defeated Justin Maiorana 219-208. The championship was dead even after 5 frames but George rattled off a 6-bagger in frames 4-9 to pull away to the 247-218 victory. Champion’s Profile: George Spencer is 35 years old and employed as a machinist for Johnson Precision. He has been bowling since age 4 and currently bowls in the Embroidme Travel League. His high game is 300 and he has an 837 high series to his credit. George was using a Storm Agent drilled by Brian Ruszala of Big Daddy’s Pro shop in Kenmore. He thanked his friends Brian and Brandon for cheering him on during the finals and ABT sponsor Storm Bowling Products. George said his winnings would be used to pay some bills. He also said that he enjoys the current format but would prefer a stepladder finals. (That might be a change worth making-Ed) CONGRATULATIONS GEORGE!
