*** Piwko Captures classic title ***

James Piwko won his first ABT title by defeating Dennis Smith 187-169 at Parkside Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Brian Hoock defeated Zack Barlow 199-181. In match two Eric Peterson defeated Brian Hoock 208-161. In match three Dennis Smith eliminated Eric Peterson 195-141 to advance to the championship match against top seed James Piwko. The first half of the match was close but a couple of opens by Dennis late in the game gave James all the room he needed to win by the final score of 187-169.

Champion’s Profile: James Piwko is 61 years old and employed as a machinist for Uhmac Company of Holland, NY. He is married to Loretta and they have 3 sons, Anthony, Edward and John, ages 28, 27 and 23. James has been bowling since age 12 and currently bowls league at Abbott Lanes. He has a high game of 255 and a 643 high series to his credit. James was using a Brunswick Inferno drilled by Jim Reese at Lancaster Lanes. James thanked everybody who bowled this week and said that the ABT is a great club. Two of James’ sons are currently serving in the military with Edward stationed in Afghanistan and John in Iraq. James said that his winnings would go towards a vacation with his sons when they come home on leave. Hopefully that will be real soon.

CONGRATULATIONS James!
